Leviticus 21-22

Psalm 69

SUNDAY SERMON

The sermon for Sunday, March 10, is on John 2:13-22. Jesus cleansed the Temple and prophesied a sign he would do. In John 2:19, Jesus said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up!” Jesus would die (his temple – his body – would be destroyed), but in three days he raised it up again!

As we know, even in the face of that sign, many scoffed in unbelief. But what a life-giving sign it is!

PRAY

For the month of March 2024 we will be using a portion of Psalm 103 each day to guide our prayers.

Psalm 103:6-7

The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.

We live in an evil and corrupt world. Thank God today that he is the God of righteousness and justice! Pray for his righteousness and justice to reign where evil abounds.

God revealed himself and his commands to Moses and the people of Israel. Today we have his word that reveals him to us. Ask God to give you a greater love for and understanding of his word.

You can also take some time to lift up these things in prayer:

  • Confess your sins
  • The Lost
  • The Church
  • The World
  • Your Needs

QUESTIONS FOR FAITH GROUPS

  • Why did Jesus object to the merchants in the temple? Are there practical applications we can make from this?
  • Why did the Jews desire to see a sign?
  • Why do you think Jesus often spoke in images (e.g., calling his body the temple)?
  • Why do people still reject Christ, even after his resurrection from the dead?
  • What hope does this passage give you?
