Pastors/Elders

Like baptist churches throughout history, Faith is ruled by the congregation, which means the members of Faith Baptist collectively have the final authority in the governance of the church. Faith is also led by a pluraity of elders. The word “elder” in Scripture is used interchangably with the word “overseer.” The charge of this office is to “shepherd/pastor the flock of God” (1 Peter 5:2). For this reason, we have a plurality of "pastors" at Faith. Some minister full-time (vocationally) and some have other professions, but devote additional time to shepherding and guiding the flock. Our Elder Council is comprised of men who meet the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, and Titus 1:5-9.
