WEEKEND REFLECTION

We have made it to Joshua! Joshua chapter 1 is full of practical encouragement, as the baton is passed from Moses to Joshua. Joshua was about to lead Israel to conquer the land. Lots of war lay ahead, and plenty of hard things. 

 In Joshua 1:9, God promises to be with Joshua and not leave him. And because of this truth, Joshua is commanded to, “be strong and courageous; not frightened or dismayed.” Only a promise like God’s enduring presence can make a command like that even possible. 

And isn’t it the same for us? We have the promise of God’s enduring (and inseparable) love towards us in Christ (see Romans 8:31-39). And because of that we can have confidence – boldness even – while facing the hardest things. God will never leave us or forsake us, so be strong and courageous; not frightened or dismayed. Ponder that a while! 

PRAY

For the month of May 2024 we will be using passages from the book of Ephesians each day to guide our prayers. 

Ephesians 1:19

“and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might” 

• Thank God for his "immeasurable greatness!" Take some time to praise and adore him in prayer remembering that he is infinite in all of of his ways.
• Thank God for showing his power in our life and bringing you to himself. 
• Ask God to continue to work in the lives of others and in yourself to make you more like Christ and strengthen your faith.

You can also take some time bring these things before the Lord. 

• Confess your sins. 
• The Lost 
• Your Needs
