WEEKEND REFLECTION

This Sunday is Resurrection Sunday! We celebrate that our Hope is alive. Jesus is risen! This is the most wonderful, life-giving truth for believers. We can see this even in our Bible reading this week.

Psalm 89:3-4 refers to the covenant that God made with David. Note what it says in verse four: “I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.” This is a promise that the Lord made to David!

How does God fulfill this promise? Is David’s offspring established forever, and his throne for all generations? Indeed! This promise (as every promise of God) finds its “yes and amen in Christ”. God has done this in Christ, and his death and RESURRECTION.

Take some time to marvel at God’s amazing grace, demonstrated by the cross; and his amazing, triumphant power, which we see in his resurrection. Jesus is alive! Our King is alive. His throne is established forever!

PRAY

For the month of March 2024 we will be using a portion of Psalm 103 each day to guide our prayers.

Psalm 103:2-5

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Bless the Lord by naming all that he's done for you and thanking him for it.

  • Bless him for forgiving your sin.
  • Bless him for any healing you've experienced in your life, whether physicial, spiritual, emotional, relational, etc.
  • Bless him for redeeming you and saving you for eternal judgment.
  • Bless him for pouring out his steadfast love and mercy upon you in Christ Jesus.
  • Bless him for satisfying your with his goodness, and renewing your strength in him.

Ask the Lord for grace in these areas especially if you struggle in any of them.

You can also take some time to lift up these things in prayer:

  • Confess your sins
  • The Lost
  • The Church
  • The World
  • Your Needs
