Nate is originally from right here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. His immediately family also lives in Sioux Falls including his two younger siblings. Growing up Nate enjoyed drawing and wanted to become an artist when in high school and loved watching Bob Ross on PBS. He graduated with a bachelor’s in physics from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota, discovered how little he really understood, and then came back to Sioux Falls in 2010.
Nate grew up attending Trinity Baptist church here in Sioux Falls and enjoyed doing Awana. While he prayed to accept Jesus at the age of 4, it wasn’t until his latter years of high school where he started to take his faith seriously. He spent his first few years in college reading through much theological material and wrestling with heavy questions. While there have been some mile markers along the way, God’s work in his life has been of a progressive nature. By his latter twenties, he finally came to peace on dealing with the hardest question he had been wrestling with for years in his walk with God: “Is God good?”
Since 2010, Nate has been attending Faith Baptist and has worked on the Tech/AV team since 2017. Joining FBF staff in November 2022, he works closely with Tech Director Aaron Myers in assisting with tech ministries.
During the warmer months of the year, you will often find Nate on a motorcycle. Once the snow starts flying, he trades in two wheels for two sticks and will find him sliding down the mountains enjoying alpine skiing and still occasionally makes outings to Great Bear. Beside this, he theoretically enjoys long walks on the beach, but settles for hikes on Midwest trails while listening to podcasts or audio books.
