Max is from Parker, South Dakota. While attending Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota Max met Leslie and they were married in 2004. After graduation they spent a year on the Oregon Coast before moving back to Spearfish and eventually to Parker in 2009. In 2012 they adopted their first son, followed by their second son in 2017, and their third in 2023.
Max started attending church regularly after meeting his wife in 2002. They settled into a Baptist church in Spearfish where he was baptized. While attending church Max became involved in the college ministry. Max, along with his wife, led a weekly small group Bible study with college students where his faith grew rapidly. God has continued to direct his steps as he has become more involved in local church ministry and community outreach.
Max has been attending Faith since 2009. He spent 10 years helping with Wednesday night ministries, teaching Pre-K through Kindergarten and 4th-grade boys. He has also served in the Nursery since 2009. He recently started his four-year term as a member of the Elder Council and currently serves as Faith's financial secretary. Max and his family have been involved in Harbor Families and are preparing to host children again in the near future.
In his free time Max enjoys spending time outside with his family, especially in the mountains or at the ocean. He is also Chief of the Parker Volunteer Fire Department and has coached numerous youth sports that his boys have been involved with.
