Jesus says it’s to their advantage that He goes away, for then the Helper will come. Why would it be better to have the Holy Spirit with us?

What does it mean that the Spirit will “guide you into all the truth”? With the Spirit, will we know all things?

If the Spirit does not speak on His own authority, is He lesser than Jesus or the Father?

What comfort does it bring us to know that we do have a Helper? How have you seen His help in your own life?

The Spirit comes not only to convict and to help, but to glorify Jesus. How does He glorify? Does He help us to glorify Christ?

How do you think knowing what Jesus shared in the prior chapter is helpful in keeping the disciples (and us) from “falling away”? (Read John 15:18-27 for context)

This passage speaks of a time when Jesus’ followers would be rejected and hated by the world—even in their own communities—because of Christ’s sake. Have you ever experienced something like this? What truths have helped you to persevere?

Verse 2 describes people like those in Isaiah 5:20: they “call evil good and good evil.” Why do they do that? How do we discern what is good and what is evil?

How can we as a Faith Group be praying for one another to persevere in the Lord this week?

What comfort does it bring to us to know the Jesus is worthy to open the scroll? (v. 5)

Why is He worthy? What gives Him the right and power to open it?

How should it affect the way we live today, knowing that we have been purchased by the blood of Christ, and that we are made to be "priests to serve our God"?

Verse 9 says the He purchased people from every tribe, language, people , and nation. How should this truth affect our perspective on missions--as "goers and senders"?

Verse 11 describes how Jesus is worthy to receive all things and all praise. How can we as a Faith Gorup be praying for one antoher with a posture of praise that Jesus is worthy of?

Verse 32 says that the New Covenant is "not like the [Old] Covenant." What are some of the major differences? and how is that helpful for ou Christian walk?

What does it mean to have the law written on our hearts? Does God's written Word still have relevance?

God says that those under the new covenant shallb ehHis people, and He will be their God. How does that help your daily walk to know that you are His and He is yours? How does it encourage you that the Lord can be known?

Verse 34 says that God will "remember their sin no more." Are you holding on to shame for what God has already forgotten

Verse 3 calls Jesus a "man of sorrows, aquianted with grief." In what ways can the fact that Jesus suffered as a human (both life and death) meet us in our human suffering?)

What kind of peace if verse 5 talking about?

Verse 10 says it was "the will of the Lord to crush him." Jesus bowed to the Father's will even unto death on a cross. Have you ever struggled for God's will? How can we live an obedient life like Christ?

Verse 4 says that He has "borne our griefs and carried our sorrows." How can we as a Faith Group be praying for one another to lay out our griefs and sorrows at the cross?

God promises that His steadfast love will not depart from David's offspring, and his kingdom will be made sure forever (vv. 15-16). The prophet, Jeremiah, speaks of the Lord's steadfast love never ceasing (Lam. 3:22-23). What comforts does it give you to know this reality about God's covenant love?
