Why was it so difficult for the disciples to understand what Jesus was saying to them? (vv. 16-18)

“Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him...” (v. 19) What does this teach us about Christ’s divinity?

Jesus turns their sorrow to joy (v. 20). How have you experienced Jesus meeting you in your sorrow?

Jesus’ resurrection brought an unshakeable joy to the disciples (v. 22). How has the Gospel given you this joy?

Why does Jesus say, “You will ask nothing of me”? (v. 23)

What does it mean to ask in Jesus’ name? Will the Father really give us whatever we ask for? (vv. 23-24)

What does Jesus mean when He says that their joy would be full if they would “ask and receive”? (v. 24)

How can we as a Faith Group be encouraging one another this week to be more faithful in prayer?
