David grew up in Texas and spent the first 40 years of his life there. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and has been working in the energy sector his entire career. David and Jen married in 2003. Jen grew up in South Dakota and her parents are third generation farmers. They have one son, Brady, who will be headed off to college soon. He and the family have lived in Texas, Iowa, Nebraska, and now South Dakota.
David was raised in a godly Christian home with parents who faithfully served in their home church. He grew up hearing the gospel message routinely and felt the calling early in his life to trust Christ as Savior and later testify that to his home church and follow in believer's baptism. He was blessed to grow up in a healthy youth group with leaders that challenged his spiritual growth. He has been teaching in youth, singles, and adult ministries most of his adult life. In addition, he loves to sing and participate in choir. He has served as deacon and trustee in several previous churches.
David and Jen joined Faith in 2022 after attending the Faith Explored Class for new prospective members. He attended the Shepherd Leadership course with a great group of men and enjoyed the deep review of theology. Along the way he has served as a teacher for Faith University classes. He and Jen actively participate with their Faith Group led by Mike and Raquel Janke. He also enjoys singing with the Adult Choir and has been participating with the Men's Ministry.
In his free time David loves to be outdoors and spending time with family. He loves the amazing creation and cycle of life that God has blessed us with and loves hunting, gardening, yard work, home improvement projects, and anything that can keep his hands busy. Jen is an amazing cook, and he loves to support his wife by eating all that she prepares. In addition, he is a sports enthusiast and enjoys following his Texas Aggies, the SDSU Jackrabbits, and several other professional teams (most of which are in Texas).
