READ
Sunday Sermon
The sermon on Sunday, March 2, is on John 7:25-31. To prepare your heart for the preaching of God’s Word, read this passage before the gathering.
PRAY
Take some time to commune with the Lord in prayer using part of The Lord's Prayer as a model.
"FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER, AMEN." - Acknowledge God's sovereign reign over all things and thank him for his everlasting love and goodness.
Faith Groups
- Why did the people doubt Jesus? Why do people today doubt Jesus? Are there similarities between then and now?
- Why does John mention that Jesus is speaking openly in the temple, even though people are seeking to kill him?
- In what sense did Jesus “not come of his own accord”?
- How did Jesus avoid arrest in this passage? And why?
- Ponder the two responses we see to Jesus in the gospel of John: some reject him, and some believe in him. That is true today as well. Why do some believe, while others, seeing the same evidence, seek to harm Jesus?
- Application for today?
