DAILY WORSHIP

READ

Isaiah 48-50

Proverbs 18

Sunday Sermon

The sermon on Sunday, December 29, is on Colossians 1:28-2:3. Take some time to read this thoughtfully before the service, in order to prepare your heart for the preaching of God’s Word.

PRAY

Take some time to commune with the Lord in prayer using part of The Lord's Prayer as a model.

"FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM, AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOREVER, AMEN." Acknowledge God's sovereign reign over all things and thank him for his everlasting love and goodness.

Faith Groups

  • List the different words Paul uses to describe his work in presenting people mature in Christ. What is significant about each word.
  • What is Christian maturity?
  • How does one strive with someone else’s energy (see verse 29)? What does that mean, practically, for us?
  • Discuss Paul’s commitment to discipleship. Should we be similarly committed to striving to present every man mature in Christ?
  • What challenges do we face in discipleship? How can we encourage one another to become more involved in helping others to follow Jesus?
