Psalm 80

PRAY

For the month of September in our Daily Worship we will be praying through our Five Loves during the week and our Mission and Vision statements on the weekend.  

“…you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” – Mark 12:30 

The Bible commands us to love God. But loving God should not be drudgery.  

Our problem, though, is that we in our natural state we cannot love God as we should because we are born spiritually dead (Eph. 2:1-3), blind (2 Cor. 4:4), lost (Lk. 19:10), and hard-hearted (Rom. 2:5). But God in his mercy shows us love first (1 Jn. 4:10), gives us a new heart (Ez. 36:26), and enables us by his grace to truly love him.   

When God gives us a new heart, he makes us part of his new family, the church. Therefore, we want to make it a priority to be together in gathered worship with God’s people on the Lord’s Day.  

• Thank God for loving you first and saving you. 

• Ask God to increase your love for him each day through. 

• Confess to God where you haven’t loved him as you ought. 

• Trust God’s promises of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. 

• Ask God to grow the faith and love of others in our church. 

• Pray for our gathered worship each week and all who attend and serve.
